Infant Holy Infant Lowly – Nathan Howe, arranger
Infant Holy, Infant Lowly (often sung with the text Stars were gleaming, shepherds dreaming…) is a memorable Polish Christmas carol. This arrangement by Nathan Howe features beautiful, natural SATB harmony over gorgeous contrasting lines in the piano and optional violin or flute. The instrumental parts also include subtle quotations from Jesus, Once of Humble Birth and The First Noel. Lord My Pasture Will Prepare, The
arr. David Batchelor
SATB, piano and violin
Lord My Pasture Will Prepare, The
The first page of the music dedicates the arrangement to John Michael Yates, who was a member in David’s congregation. He approached David with a commission proposal to arrange three hymns, one of which was “The Lord My Pasture Will Prepare,” to be performed at John’s funeral service. David took on the project gladly, but had to laugh a little when John assured him that the funeral would probably not take place for many years to come. John is in perfect health.
“The Lord My Pasture will Prepare” is beautifully arranged for SATB Choir with piano accompaniment and violin descant.

Son of the Highest
Son of the Highest for SATB Choir with violin obbligato
Son of the Highest, for SATB choir with violin obbligato by Kathleen Holyoak, is a wonderful choice for any Christmas service. It presents a fresh approach to the Virgin Mary’s experience when the angel, Gabriel, delivered the message that she was chosen by God to give birth to His Son. Mary, overwhelmed and realizing she was fore-ordained to be the Mother of Jesus, humbly accepted the great responsibility, having faith that she and Joseph would raise the Son of God.
The song begins with a gentle, rocking melody and builds to a powerful refrain and exciting ending. Follow the words as you listen:
To Mary, blessed Mary, favored of the Lord,
Came an angel on errand as prophets had foretold.
Mary in tears fell to her knees.
Who would believe her in all of Galilee?
He said she’d conceive and bear a special Son.
His name would be Jesus, the Father’s chosen One.
How could this be for a virgin was she?
The angel assured that with God, nothing is impossible.
He shall be called, Son of the Highest, Alleluia!
The Father shall give Him throne
And He shall reign. Alleluia!
Glory be to Jesus, the Messiah, the Holy One.
And what of dear Joseph, so loyal and true?
The Spirit bore witness he’d know his calling too;
To be not afraid but fully believe
With calm reassurance they’d raise the Son of God.
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Jesus Christ shall reign over the House of David
And of His kingdom there shall be, shall be no end.
Praise the Son of God. Alleluia!
Full of grace and truth.
The Savior, the Redeemer,
And the Only Begotten Son.
Alleluia! Alleluia!

Take My Hand
Take My Hand, a SATB choral arrangement with music by Kathleen Holyoak, is an especially beautiful title relating to the theme of service: helping and lifting others and a wonderful choice for any worship service. This title is also available in a SSA arrangement and includes a violin obbligato. Follow the words as you listen:
When I reach to help another,
When I seek to take their part,
I can feel the love of heaven
Settle gently in my heart.
With these hands to offer mercy
I help wipe away each care,
As I bend to lift another
From despair, from despair.
Take my hand, take my hand,
I will lift you come what may.
With faith the Lord, our loving Lord,
With faith that He will always show the way.
We are sent to render comfort and to
Pray for those who mourn,
And bring the gospel radiance
To each friend who is forlorn;
To lift them in their weakness
With help from heav’n above,
And walk with them and talk with them
Until they feel God’s love.
When I see a person suff’ring
From a loss or from a need,
When a neighbor seeks my comfort
And I hasten to pay heed.
Then the Holy Spirit guides me,
Shedding light along the way,
As I’m reaching out to others
Day by day, day by day.
Take my hand, take my hand,
I will keep you come what may.
Come walk with me until you see
Our Savior’s arms are always open wide.
Take my hand, take my hand.
