HolySheetMusic proudly introduces Ryan Tilby – Guitarist/Composer/Arranger

13 Jul 2014 / 1 Comment / in Uncategorized/by HolySheetMusic

HolySheetMusic welcomes Ryan Tilby to the fold as a composer/arranger of stunningly beautiful Solo Guitar Music.   HolySheetMusic is proud to present Ryan’s recordings as well as his sheet music.  Here’s a little more about Ryan and his album “Sacred Guitar.”

Ryan Tilby is an in-demand multi-instrumentalist and audio engineer with experience recording (and being recorded) in every major studio in Utah.  With years under his belt as a professional touring musician signed to Capitol Records, Ryan has played venues around the world and recorded on hundreds of projects.  He studied jazz guitar at Utah State University and has two solo albums distributed through Stone Angel Music.

Ryan Tilby Guitarist/Composer/Arranger

Ryan’s simple arrangements of these hymns capture the innocence of life. His acoustic guitar performance creates an atmosphere of prayer, meditation, and soul searching amidst the adversity of mortal live. They stimulate righteous desires in the soul.

“In these hymns I hope you find the message their writers meant to convey. It’s a great responsibility to play sacred music. I’m not much of a singer, and my guitar has always been the voice I use to praise God. The reverent arrangement and solo guitar approach is deliberate; I’d like the listener to sense the emotion of the piece, not the extravagant complexities and multiple passes of guitar. I love my Savior and His kindness to me. To Him and all those He has put into my life, I give thanks.” -Ryan Tilby

“SACRED GUITAR” REVIEWS:

“How do you even describe this album? Tilby’s approach to these hymns is exactly what he promises in his notes on the album. He does them with such quiet dignity, it really gives credence to the adage, “less is more”. A great album. I truly appreciate this addition to my library.” -Justin, FAN

“This album is simply beautiful. It is complex in its simplicity, with quietly powerful energy and thought provoking sound. These songs set the tone to help create a peaceful space to just ‘be’. This album feels like a reminder to slow down, be more aware, and to place attention on what is most important. Very well done, and highly recommended.” -Tamara, FAN

“This music makes my home the most serene place to be. Not only do I love to play it on Sundays, but anytime I wish to be distracted from the frenetic pace of life. Therapy for my soul….Ryan Tilby is a master at his art, grace on strings!” -Kay, FAN

“Ryan Tilby’s tender approach is beautiful & reverent. His love for the Savior is elegantly expressed.” — Paul Cardall, Award-Winning Pianist and Producer

Dan@Kathy'sPiano

We at HolySheetMusic.com are excited about our two newest releases by composer, Daniel Carter—two PIANO DUETS (!!) for 1 Piano, 4 Hands of two of the most beloved pieces in classical literature: “O Divine Redeemer,” and “Panis Angelicus.” On a personal note I’ve known Dan for over 30 years, reaching back to our early days in college. He has over (are you ready?) 500 pieces of music in print, and he is delighted to make many of them exclusively available through HolySheetMusic. He has been one of our composers from the day of our initial launch, last November, and we wanted to properly introduce him to all of you with this latest release.  Please click on the links below to hear these beautiful arrangements.

HolySheetMusic introduces and welcomes Niki Nichols

NikiNichols

Niki Nichols – Composer (Christian Music)

Niki is the newest composer to join HolySheetMusic.com  Niki was introduce to me through her father, Tim Meixner – Conductor of the Metropolitan Detroit Youth Chorus (http://mdyc.com).  Her writing is beautiful and touches the soul.  Here’s more about Niki:

Niki was born into a family of musicians where she spent her youth helping dad grade theory papers, notating songs from the radio into a cappella arrangements (for fun!), performing in community theater, and touring the country with her father’s choir, The Metropolitan Detroit Youth Chorus.

Niki holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Rochester College in Rochester, MI.  Niki is a first soprano having participated in the Rochester College A Cappella Chorus, the college’s a cappella vocal band “Spectrum”, and several musicals and operas.  She is an a cappella enthusiast due largely to the fact that she grew up in the a cappella tradition as well as not learning to play the piano until college, having always written music without one!

Niki and her husband, Matt, have 4 children.  They have dedicated their lives to going where God calls them and joining in with whatever God is doing there.  They have recently moved their family to Pontiac, MI, where they work closely with the homeless community.  Niki is a licensed Minister of Music currently serving at the Shepherd’s Fold Community Church alongside her husband who is the Associate Pastor. The church meets in the basement of a homeless shelter.  They are currently working to raise funds for creative housing solutions and case management for the homeless of Pontiac.  Please take a look at her beautiful choral piece, “Show Me Your Ways, O Lord.”

Introducing Jason Tonioli

Jason Tonioli – pianist/arranger/composer

HolySheetMusic welcomes pianist/arranger/composer, Jason Tonioli.   Here’s a little more information about Jason.

Jason Tonioli (pronounced: toe-knee-oh-lee) was raised in Soda Springs, Idaho and Roy, Utah. He started piano lessons when he was in Kindergarten and enjoyed practicing for the first year. Throughout his school years he disliked practicing (however, he did enjoy the fact that girls like a guy who can play piano). His piano skills are a product of excellent teachers and a mother who wouldn’t let him quit. If it weren’t for a mother who won the “piano war” with her son, this book would never have been written.

Jason always enjoyed playing piano as long as he could play what he wanted, the way he wanted. When practicing, he would often play part of what Mozart, Beethoven or Rachmaninoff had written and part what he made up while playing. His mother and teacher often looked down upon changing what was written and always told him that when he started writing his own music, he could write and play the way “he thought” it should be done.

Partly to prove to his mom and teachers that he could write music and play it the way he wanted, and partly because he enjoyed playing, he did start writing music and has grown to love piano. He is very grateful to a mother who wouldn’t let him give up piano lessons. or He is very grateful to his mother for not letting him give up. If she hadn’t won the “piano war,” none of this music would have been written.
